Meet The Team

Nicki began dancing, stepping and acting as a child. She specializes in Hip-hop, Jazz Funk and Musical Theatre. She has over 20 years of training and dance experience. Nicki obtained a Bachelor's of Arts in Education from the illustrious North Carolina Central University and has serviced the Durham Public School System by educating children of diverse backgrounds for over 8 years. She has combined her knowledge of dance and education to create effective lessons for children to apply on and off stage.

A Durham native and hometown treasure. Romell has been dancing, choreographing, acting and directing since the age of 5. He Specializes in Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theater and Hip-hop. Romell has over 20 years of dance training and experience. He has danced with elite choreographers and behind prominent musical artists. He has contributed his skills of creative directing and visual composition to the outline of NC Dugout Dance Company. His creative vision is the soul of the company.

Jasmine B Knight , a native of Raleigh, NC, began dancing in 7th grade. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Dance Education at the Illustrious, North Carolina Central University. She is currently teaching in Durham, NC to share her passion and love for dance with whomever wants to learn. Jasmine's natural and most comfortable movement style is sassy, intricate lyrical with a mix of street jazz, hip-hop and ballet.

Kierstyn, affectionately known as Coach Kay, began her dance journey at the age of 10. She has background in lyrical, hip-hop and competitive cheer. Kay graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Relations, then shortly after Kay obtained a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies in 2017 from the illustrious North Carolina Central University. Today, Kay serves as the administrative assistant as well as one of the assistant coaches. She is thrilled to be able to still utilize both, her early childhood education background as well as her years of dance training to be able to contribute to the continued growth and success of the dancers of NC Dugout.

Chalyn is a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University. He has trained in majorette and hip-hop dance for over 10 years. His background in early childhood development has contributed to his pedagogic teaching style. He has become a vital piece to the Dugout family.

Alexis is a recently graduated student of NC Dugout Dance Company. She has danced with the company since it first opened and has come back to work with us following graduation. She is trained in Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz and Hip-Hop. She is the true essence of our program.

Jada is a recently graduated student of NC Dugout Dance Company. She has danced with the company since it first opened and has come back to work with us following graduation. She works closely in early childhood development and provides a cheerful comforting spirit within the company. She is trained in Hip-Hop and Jazz Funk.
